I have an LL.B from the University of Saskatchewan and was called to the bar with the Law Society of British Columbia in 2009. In the early stages of my legal career I had a general law practice focused on family law and appearing in both Provincial and Supreme Courts of British Columbia. In 2011, I took a position as In-House Legal Counsel with a diverse group of companies in Kelowna, B.C. Over a five year period my role as In-House Legal Counsel progressed to Director of Operations and I eventually became President and Chief Operating Officer.
As Chief Operating Officer I was responsible for the day to day operations and management of Canada's first luxury real estate auction house. In addition to building the legal foundation for this company's operations, I led the team that successfully completed three auctions of luxury real estate, one of which resulted in the sale proceeds being donated to the BC Cancer Foundation. My role was responsible for the development and execution of all corporate strategies including the operational, financial and marketing initiatives for the company. As my role became progressively corporate focused I recognized the need to continue learning and enrolled in an Executive MBA program.
In 2015 I received my MBA from Royal Roads University in Victoria where I took elective courses in Executive Coaching and Leadership. Through my MBA program and experience as Chief Operating Officer, I engaged my passion for marketing and I have worked to continuously refine my marketing acuumen as an independent contractor with small but passionate companies.
I am an active member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Law Society of British Columbia. I am a past varsity hockey player with the University of Saskatchewan and I enjoy hot yoga, being active outdoors and traveling in my spare time.
